buildingSMART Projects
Projects are new developments and ideas suggested by our sponsors, which when successful will be adopted as a Program at Saudi Arabia Chapter or International level.
Our sponsors are involved in the construction industry on a daily basis and can identify gaps, needs and bottlenecks in the current adoption of BIM and openBIM. Through the Projects initiative we offer the opportunity for our sponsors to define a project to tackle these challenges.
Once a Project is identified we ask to write a project plan including a resource plan, timeline and budget. buildingSMART Saudi Arabia has a limited budget available (50% of the sponsorship amount of our Bronze, Silver and Gold Sponsors) to allocate to these projects. We stimulate participants of a project to participate in-kind, to be able to allocate the available budget to marketing and communication purposes.
Once the project plan is finalized it can be approved by the Board and/or the technical committee of buildingSMART Saudi Arabia. When the project is approved the project will be published on our website and will be communicated through our internal and external social media channels. Once the resourcing and budget is arranged the Project will be upgraded to a Program and work can start.
